Chuan Qiong (Ligusticum chuanxiong), also known as Shan Ju Qiong, Xiong Qiong, Hu Qiong, Ma Xian, Que Nao Qiong, Jing Qiong, Guan Qiong, Fu Qiong, Tai Qiong, Xi Qiong, Qiong Qiong, Hu Qiong, Jiu Yuan Mao, Jiu Qiong, Shan Ju Qiong, and Du Qiong. Medicinal Functions: Promotes Qi circulation, relieves stagnation, dispels wind and dampness, activates blood circulation, and alleviates pain. It is used to treat headaches, dizziness, difficult labor, postpartum blood stasis pain, abscesses, ulcers, irregular menstruation, dysmenorrhea, abdominal pain due to masses, chest and rib pain, swelling and pain from falls and injuries, and rheumatic pain.
Growth Characteristics
It mostly grows on the edge of forests, roadsides, sparse forests in mountainous areas, or in open mixed forests dominated by bamboo. It is less common in dense forests, at an altitude of 700-1000 meters.
