Guanmutong is used to treat menstrual disorders and insufficient lactation. It can promote blood circulation and regulate menstruation, making it effective in treating blood stasis and menstrual disorders. It is often used in combination with Safflower, Peach kernel, and Salvia miltiorrhiza.
If Guanmutong is used to treat insufficient lactation or lactation obstruction, it can be used in combination with Herba Leonuri and Chinese pangolin. Guanmutong can also promote blood circulation in the meridians and relieve joint pain caused by damp-heat. It is often used in combination with Mulberry twigs and Coix seeds for this purpose.

It is often used in combination with Rehmannia root, Licorice, and Bamboo leaves.
