Wuzhuafeng is a climbing shrub, about 1.5 meters tall. Its branches are cylindrical, gray-brown to purple-brown in color, with soft hair when young and shedding when old, and sparse prickles.
The stipules are linear-lanceolate in shape, attached to the base of the petiole, only connected or loosely separated from the base of the petiole, with soft hair, and often not divided; the flowers are usually solitary at the apex of lateral branches;
The flower stalk is 2-3.5 centimeters long, hairless; the bracts are similar to the stipules; the diameter of the flower is 1.5-2 centimeters; the calyx is hairless on the outside, only with hairs on the edge of the inner sepals, without thorns or with sparse needle-like thorns;
The petals are ovate or elliptic, white in color, with soft hair, much shorter than the sepals and almost without claws; the stamens are single, with flattened filaments; the pistils are 10-15, with shallow yellow long hairs at the base of the style and ovary.
The fruit is semi-spherical, hidden in the calyx, with a diameter of 1-1.5 centimeters, red in color, and with long hairs on the base of the persistent style and ovary; the seed is up to 4 millimeters long and wrinkled.
