Chinese medicine believes that Geshan Xiang has the functions of dispelling wind and heat, resolving phlegm and relieving cough, reducing swelling and alleviating pain. It is mainly used to treat colds, coughs, headaches, abdominal pain, dysentery, hepatitis, rheumatic pain, hernia, irregular menstruation, bruises and swelling, boils, and snake bites.
60g of the whole herb of Geshan Xiang, 30g of Hibiscus syriacus leaves, and 30g of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis leaves, decoct with water and wash the affected area.
Geshan Xiang is a perennial herbaceous plant, 40-130cm tall, with a smooth and hairless body. The main root is cylindrical or spindle-shaped. The stem is erect, cylindrical, with longitudinal and shallow groove lines, and branches in the upper part.

The leaves have petioles, 7-30cm long, with wide sheaths at the base. The leaf blades are long oval-shaped to broadly triangular, 3-pinnate and 2-pinnate lobed; the lobes have petioles, 2-7cm long;
The small lobes are elliptic to lanceolate, 3.5-6.5cm long, 0.4-2.5cm wide, gradually pointed at the apex, and gradually narrowed at the base. The flowering period is from June to August. The fruiting period is from September to October.

It is wild in sunny slopes, shrubs or forest edges. It is distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Fujian, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, and other provinces. It is produced in Zhejiang and Guangxi.
Geshan Xiang can be harvested all year round, and the quality is best in autumn. It can be washed and used fresh, or dried and sliced.
