【Efficacy and Effects of Golden Sand Beetle】

Golden Sand Beetle, also known as Earth Beetle, is scientifically called "Myrmeleon". The main value of Myrmeleon is medicinal, and it can be used to treat conditions such as hypertension, urinary calculi, gallstones, osteomyelitis, vasculitis, otitis media, and so on.

Golden Sand Beetle has high medicinal value and naturally comes with a high price. Live Golden Sand Beetles can be sold for more than 4000 yuan per kilogram.

Dried Earth Beetle can be ground into powder and applied to the affected area to treat knife wounds. In folk medicine, this insect is commonly ground into powder and used to treat tinnitus or otitis media.

Golden Sand Beetle has a pungent and salty taste, warm in nature, and is toxic. It has diuretic and detoxifying effects and is mainly used to treat urinary calculi, malaria, boils, and scrofula.

Treatment for malaria: Take eleven Golden Sand Beetles, mix with alcohol, and swallow. Take one dose half an hour before the onset of malaria. For chronic malaria, continue taking for one week.

【Methods of Breeding Golden Sand Beetles】

Currently, the number of these insects is very scarce, and they are almost impossible to cultivate artificially, so their value is extremely high.

Golden Sand Beetles prefer sandy areas and are commonly found in sandy soil at the foot of cliffs.

Golden Sand Beetles can be captured throughout the year, mostly in summer and autumn. They can be collected by shoveling sand at the habitat of the ant lions, and after capture, they should be slightly stir-fried over a low fire until the body expands.

The body of the Earth Beetle is light and has a soft and brittle texture. It has a slight fishy smell and a slightly salty taste. The best ones are large in size, intact, yellow-brown in color, light in weight, and free of sand and mud.

Adult Golden Sand Beetles live in grassy areas and fly mostly at dusk, while the larvae reside in dry sandy soil, building funnel-shaped pits and lurking at the bottom of the pits, waiting to capture small insects for food. They are distributed in South China, Taiwan, Sichuan, and other places.
