Effective Remedies for Blood Stasis Type Chronic Cholecystitis: A Traditional Approach

Clinical manifestations of blood stasis type chronic cholecystitis:

Long-term pain in the hypochondrium, fixed location, sharp and stabbing pain, tenderness on palpation, tenderness or palpable mass in the right hypochondrium, dark purple tongue, wiry pulse.


Huayu Yanggan Honey

Ingredients: 250g hawthorn, 500g salvia, 250g wolfberry, 1000g honey, 60g rock sugar.

Method: Soak the first three ingredients in water for 2 hours, then boil them to make a medicinal liquid. Mix the honey and sugar into the medicinal liquid and simmer on low heat for 30 minutes. Remove from heat when the honey and medicinal liquid are thick and well combined. Let it cool and seal it in a container for storage.

Effect: Promotes blood circulation and removes blood stasis, soothes the liver and relieves pain.

Usage: Take 1 spoonful, 3 times a day, with hot water. Can be taken continuously for 2-3 months.

Black Bean Chuanxiong Porridge

Ingredients: 25g black beans, 10g chuanxiong, 50g glutinous rice, 20g brown sugar.

Method: Boil the chuanxiong to remove impurities, then add the black beans and cook until soft. Add the glutinous rice and cook until it becomes a porridge. Add brown sugar.

Effect: Promotes blood circulation and removes blood stasis, promotes Qi circulation and relieves pain.

Usage: Take as breakfast and dinner.

Baoshilian Stewed Tofu

Ingredients: 60g fresh baoshilian, 120g tofu.

Method: Wash the ingredients, cut tofu into pieces, put them in a pot, add water and stew until cooked.

Effect: Clears heat, detoxifies, eliminates dampness, and removes blood stasis.

Usage: Drink the tofu soup warm, can be eaten alone or with a meal.

Chenpi Beef

Ingredients: 1000g beef, 30g chenpi, 500g white radish.

Method: Cut the beef into pieces, soak in water for half an hour, and then drain. Cut the chenpi into shreds and the radish into cubes. Bring water to a boil in a pot, add the beef and cook until boiling, remove the foam, then add the chenpi and radish. Simmer on low heat until the radish is cooked, then add salt and MSG to taste.

Effect: Regulates Qi and promotes blood circulation, nourishes the liver and kidneys.

Usage: Eat the meat and drink the soup.
