  Liu Jingu Tea

  Ingredients: Equal parts of Liu Jingu and prepared licorice.

  Preparation: Grind the ingredients into coarse powder. Take 15 grams of the powder, place it in a thermos cup, and steep it with 200 milliliters of boiling water for 15 minutes. Then pour out the tea and mix it with 1 small cup of yellow wine. The tea residue can be steeped again with boiling water for a second use. Take once daily.

  Effects: Promotes blood circulation.

  Indications: Postpartum retention of lochia, abdominal pain, dizziness, and amenorrhea. Caution should be exercised when using by individuals with weak qi and blood, weak spleen and stomach, or those prone to diarrhea.

  1. Avoid use in individuals with weak qi and blood or those with spleen deficiency causing diarrhea.

  2. According to "Weisheng Yijian Fang" (Simplified Prescriptions for Health), excessive use may cause vomiting and purging.

  3. According to "Bencao Jing Shu" (Commentary on the Materia Medica), individuals with weak qi and blood, weak spleen and stomach, and those prone to diarrhea should avoid using it.

  [Characteristics of Liu Jingu]

  Liu Jingu is a dried whole plant, usually bent, measuring 60-90 cm in length and 2-4 mm in diameter. The surface is brownish-yellow to brown, often covered with white hairs. The stem is firm and hard, with a fibrous appearance when broken, yellowish-white with loose central part.

  The leaves are opposite, usually dry and wrinkled, with a dark green surface and a grayish-green back covered with white hairs. They are brittle and easily broken or fallen off.

  The branch tips bear yellowish-brown flower spikes. It has a fragrant aroma and a mild taste. The quality is considered good when the leaves are green, the flower spikes are yellow, and there are no mold spots or impurities.
