【Precautions for Using Gan Sui】

Due to the strong medicinal properties of Gan Sui, it is not recommended to use it without professional guidance. It is best to consult a doctor before using Gan Sui for safety. The side effects and dietary taboos of Gan Sui mainly include the following:

1. Pregnant women should avoid using it, and generally stop using it after the disease is cured.

2. It is recommended to use processed Gan Sui (fried or soaked in vinegar) to reduce its side effects such as vomiting. After being treated with acetic acid, the toxic and irritating effects of Gan Sui can be reduced. Raw Gan Sui has strong toxicity and laxative effects, so it is not suitable for use.

3. Traditional experience suggests that Gan Sui should not be combined with licorice, euphorbia, or purging croton. However, the preliminary results of modern experiments are inconsistent.

Some reports indicate that according to experiments on rabbits, there were no significant changes in breathing, heart rate, body temperature, pupil reaction, and gastrointestinal function after taking Gan Sui (or euphorbia or purging croton) in combination with licorice. However, other experiments have shown different reactions depending on the dosage ratio of Gan Sui and licorice.
