1. "Commonly Used Medicinal Herbs in Sichuan": "Root: dispels wind and dampness, stops vomiting, promotes blood circulation. Used to treat vomiting blood from overexertion, irregular menstruation, foul breath, scrofula, eye opacity after smallpox, and dog bites. Leaf: used to treat yellow water sores."
2. "Catalog of Medicinal Plants in Guizhou": "Whole plant: clears heat, cools blood, stops bleeding, and aids in bone healing. Used to treat dysentery, prolapse of the anus, irregular menstruation, coughing up blood, and fractures."

[Clinical Applications of Da Wu Pao]
1. Treatment of dysentery
Boil 3 liang of fresh Da Wu Pao root bark, 2 liang of fresh Long Ya Cao roots, and 1 liang of fresh Bai Jin Tiao roots. Drink the decoction, three to four times a day, with two small wine cups each time.
2. Treatment of coughing up blood and weakness in limbs
Boil 2 liang of fresh Da Wu Pao, 1 liang of fresh Ku Ci Tou, and 5 qian of Kui Hua Ganxin into a concentrated solution. Drink four times a day, with a teacup each time.
3. Treatment of irregular menstruation
Boil 1 liang of Da Wu Pao root, 1 liang of Dao Chu San root, 5 qian of Mao Cao root, and 5 qian of Jin Yin Hua vine with water and red sugar. Take three times a day.
4. Treatment of fractures (without broken skin)
Take equal amounts of Da Wu Pao root, wild grape root bark, and Bai Wei Shen. Crush them together, fry in alcohol until hot, then manually reset the fracture, apply the medicine, and then apply a splint. Change once a day. The amount used depends on the area of the affected area.
