Chinese medicine for Duojieye root, is the root of the plant Duojieye in the family Gesneriaceae. Duojieye root is mainly used for promoting blood circulation and relieving pain. It is used to treat pain caused by overexertion: take one or two pieces of Duojieye root and five qian of Ciwujia. Soak in alcohol and consume.
The composition includes 60g of Bai Shao, Rou Gui, and Ejiao (crushed and fried), 120g of Danggui (stem removed, slightly fried), and Gancao (slightly charred). It also includes 120g of Xuduan and Chuanxiong, 90g of Baizhi and Fuzi (fried, peeled and umbilical removed), 300g of fresh and dried Shengshudi, 27g of Zhentan, and 90g of Wuzhuyu (boiled and washed seven times, dried and slightly fried).
It is finely ground and mixed with honey to form pills the size of wutongzi (the fruit of the Chinese parasol tree). Take 20 pills per dose, gradually increasing to 50 pills, and take them on an empty stomach with warm wine.
Duojieye root is mainly used for postpartum weakness, dull complexion, abdominal distension and urgency, pain radiating to the lower back, preference for lying down without sleep, dry lips and mouth, restlessness and fatigue, heavy head and dizziness, loss of appetite; or for exhaustion and injury to the Chong and Ren meridians, accumulation of wind and cold, heavy and painful menstruation, abdominal pain and urgency; it is also used to treat injuries from falls, internal blood stasis, vomiting blood, and bloody stools.
