  【Lipid-lowering Effects of Ze Xie】

  The lipid-soluble part of Ze Xie has obvious cholesterol-lowering effects and anti-atherosclerosis effects in experimental hypercholesterolemic rabbits. Ze Xie alcohol A, B and Ze Xie alcohol A, B, C acetates isolated from it, except for Ze Xie alcohol B, all have significant cholesterol-lowering effects.

  When 0.1% of Ze Xie alcohol A-24-acetate was added to the feed of experimental hyperlipidemic rats, blood cholesterol decreased by more than 50%, and Ze Xie alcohol A-24-acetate had the strongest effect.

  Ethanol extract of Ze Xie, ethanolic extract of Ze Xie paste, and ethyl acetate extract of ethanolic extract of Ze Xie paste all have lipid-lowering effects in experimental hypercholesterolemic rabbits and rats.

  Ecological environment: Grows on the edge of swamps or cultivated.

  Distribution: Distributed in Northeast China, East China, Southwest China, Hebei, Xinjiang, Henan, and other places.

  【Contraindications for Ze Xie】

  1. People with kidney deficiency and slippery essence without damp-heat should not take it.

  2. "Ben Cao Jing Ji Zhu" (Annotations on the Compendium of Materia Medica) states that it is afraid of sea clams and soft-shelled clams.

  3. "Bie Lu" (Miscellaneous Records) states that according to Bian Que, it should not be used for patients with frequent eye diseases.

  4. "Yi Xue Ru Men" (Introduction to Medicine) states that it should not be used for patients with frequent urination, thirst, edema, and kidney deficiency.

  5. "Ben Cao Jing Shu" (Annotations on the Compendium of Materia Medica) states that it should be avoided for patients with no dampness or excessive drinking, Yin deficiency, and kidney qi deficiency, as well as for those with weak yang and slippery essence, eye pain, and vulnerability to cold-induced diarrhea.
