Qingmuxiang is used to treat digestive problems in children aged 3-10 years old. The formula includes 3 grams of Qingmuxiang, 3 grams of Coix seed, 5 grams of barley malt, 5 grams of Chinese yam, 2 grams of chicken inner gold, 2 grams of Shenqu, 2 grams of lentils, 2 grams of licorice, 1 gram of Fructus Amomi, and 1 gram of white wood. It is decocted in water and consumed as a tea.
Side Effects of Qingmuxiang
1. Qingmuxiang has a mild toxicity and is traditionally used to treat abdominal pain. In clinical practice, it is also used in small doses for the treatment of stomach and abdominal pain.
However, larger doses can cause nausea and vomiting. Prolonged use may have nephrotoxicity. Therefore, it is rarely used to treat hypertension. The national drug administration has canceled its medicinal standards.
