In the eyes of traditional Chinese medicine, the diverse plants in rural areas are considered treasures. They can not only be used for ornamental purposes and beautifying the environment, but also have excellent medicinal properties. One such plant is the Baogai grass, also known as the Bone-setting grass, which has particularly good medicinal effects.
Growth Environment of Baogai Grass
Baogai grass is basically an annual or biennial herbaceous plant, with a height of about 10-50 centimeters.
Baogai grass is widely distributed in China, especially in the southern regions.
In most cases, Baogai grass mainly grows on the sides of field roads or around grassy areas. It can also be found around villas or rural homes.
Folk Uses of Baogai Grass
In the past, due to the limited medical resources in rural areas, when someone in a household had a fall or a serious injury,
people would go to the mountains to collect Baogai grass, clean it, and boil it into water or apply it externally.
This wild vegetable played a significant role in people's lives. Therefore, Baogai grass was an indispensable remedy for the impoverished in the past.
