Snow Mountain One-Herb is a perennial herb, approximately 90 centimeters tall. The tuber is inverted cone-shaped. The stem has short, appressed hairs.
The leaves are alternate, petiolate, palmately divided, with lobes that are shallowly lobed or coarsely toothed. The upper surface is green with a few short hairs, while the lower surface is light green and nearly hairless.
The inflorescence is terminal, with numerous flowers; the bracts are 2, nearly linear, located above the middle of the peduncle; the sepals are 5, petal-like, yellow-green, with one sepal on the upper side forming a helmet shape.
The tuber is cone-shaped or elongated cylindrical, 4-9 cm long, 0.5-3 cm in diameter. The surface is dark brown to brownish-brown, with deep wrinkles and a few root scars. It is hard and difficult to break, with a milky white or light brown powder-like interior and scattered brown dots.
