Sinking incense, also known as sinking agarwood, purple vine incense, and sinking truth. Recorded in "Hai Yao Ben Cao". It is the heartwood of the root of Dalbergia odorifera T.Chen, a leguminous plant. It can be harvested all year round. The trunk is peeled and the white wood is sawn into segments; or the root is dug out, peeled, and sawn into segments. It is dried in the shade.
